Using digitised negatives from the late 1990’s I have created a video of our rear garden covering some 3.5 years. This has proved to be interesting for the family – it is a ‘Virtual Tour Through Time’! for us. For this post I am showing a shortened version covering most of 1997.
This video was created from film negatives that I have digitised. As most of the photos were taken hand-held whilst standing on a stool and pointing the camera in roughly the right direction, alignment is not perfect as you can see from some white edges – I would never have imagined that a video would be able to be created from these (or any!) photos.
However I am satisfied with the results. First I am showing a single image in both original and aligned and cropped versions:
This leads now to the shortened video version of the sequence – the full version lasts 8 minutes!
This has been an interesting exercise, and one of fascination for the family!
