I recently bought a cheap wildlife camera (£70 from Aldi) to try out. A couple of days after I got it my wife discovered a hole in the ground by one of our chicken huts which we suspected might be rats (judging by the size). So, one evening I set up this camera to keep watch overnight:
We had a rabbit!
No, two!
No, five!
No, seven!
Overall, for such a cheap camera, I was pleased with the results. As the light gets low a fair amount of noise becomes prominent, but this is a cheap device. The night vision is reasonable although the light is concentrated at the centre.
I am going to have some fun using this camera!
