Holiday in Yorkshire – Fountains Abbey and Studley Royal

On our holiday to Yorkshire last month we visited the National Trust property of Fountains Abbey and Studley Royal. The day was dull and overcast and as the day progressed it got duller and wetter, so wet that we got soaked through our rainware – you can see this in some of the following photos. These are all hand held as I prefer not to take a tripod to such locations. Even so, I managed to get reasonable panoramic and low light shots:

Fountains Abbey ruins: a 3 image panorama
A view though the cloisters
A 3-image vertical panorama of the tower
A 2-image panorama taken from the western side of the abbey
3 ponds (with rain!) at Studley Royal: a 3 image hand-held panorama
Misty view of the Abbey taken from Anne Boleyn’s Seat
Abbey ruins taken from the path on the opposite side of the river

Overall, considering the wet and dull weather conditions i was pleased with the results. OK they are not exhibition grade images but are better than many a snapshot.
