From 2000 to 2008 we lived on a smallholding in mid Wales. I recently discovered that the new owners (for 18 months) have started running glamping stays within the grounds. After contacting them and introducing ourselves as previous owners we booked a few days holiday with them for last week.
There have been some changes, with a surprising number of things still the same. One major difference were the grounds – how much the trees and shrubs have grown and a lot being overrun with brambles. This wasn’t a fault of the current owners but a previous owner had died alone without a will and it took over 2 years to sort out the legal issues – this meant the property was unoccupied for over 2 years. I took numerous photos around the grounds and am in the process of processing them and finding old photos of our time there to compare them with.
Here is the first set: I used to take panoramic views from the upstairs bedroom window and the owners kindly permitted me to take another set:-
The registration between the 2 images isn’t perfect (different cameras and different stitching software) but it does give an idea of the changes…
With thanks to the new owners Lynn and Steve.
