I am still experimenting with different methods of blending colour and infra-red images. In this post I am showing infra-red image with what I call ‘copper wash’ colour photos – these are colour images with a copper toned wash on them.
In the first image I show the 2 final images, IR and colour, with a simple diagonal separator:
Below, I show a different method of blending the two images:
Here, you can see the monochrome IR image in the background with the copper wash overlaid in front. This has produced an almost 3D effect on the leaves of the tree with this being more pronounced in larger images.

I still haven’t discovered a universal method of blending the monochrome IR with a colour image that I am satisfied with.
