Winter Sunbeams through the trees at Cannock Chase

On Thursday we decided to Visit our favourite part of Cannock Chase. When we left home the weather was quite clear and sunny. On the journey there we went through patches of mist and light fog. This made me wonder whether I would see sunbeams.

I wasn’t disappointed. On our walk past Harts Hill I stopped to photograph the very distinct sunbeams (there was another photographer photographing them as well – I stopped to speak to him). After taking plenty of photos we continued our walk. There was another photographer with a tripod. I asked if he was photographing the sunbeams. His response was that earlier on there wasn’t any. When I told him we had just photographed some a few minutes earlier we was off like a shot.

We continued our walk then returned the same way. The sunbeams on the way back were even better despite the sun being higher in the sky. So, obvious I took a few more photos. Here are a few from the morning’s work:

Overall, I am quite pleased how these have come out. This was an enjoyable walk.
