Daily Garden Photo: Developing Blackberries

Not ripe yet, but these blackberries are developing:

I walk past this bush of thornless, cultivated blackberries on my way to open the turkey hut. This morning I decided to photograph the developing fruit even though I don’t expect them to be ready for a few more weeks yet. As these are cultivated, they will grow bigger than the wild ones – which we pick from hedges alongside fields less than 200 yards away.

The lighting was quite dull and overcast, hence the flat, featureless lighting in this photo. I have tried to brighten things up a bit but, without spending a lot of time on it, I couldn’t make much of an improvement. The original was even worse as you can see below:
