A late winter visit to Trentham Gardens

Trentham Gardens are not too far from where with live so, with the incentive of a 2-for-1 offer, we decided to visit them earlier this week. It was a glorious sunny winter’s day – a marked change from the storms a few days earlier. It is nice to see the how they are beginning to change with the end of winter approaching. Here are a few of the photos taken on this visit:

First is a view from the side of the lake looking north:

Further along the lake are a collection of stainless steel sculptures of giant dandelions – this one has a fairy clinging to it:

There are many of these fairy sculptures around the grounds – I think they are magnificent – I wish I could afford one!:

Then we have this view of the gardens. A lot of cutting back and preparations for the spring have been made:

Finally, at the northern end of the gardens we have this row of trees forming a tunnel. At this time of the year it is a bit sparse but still effective:
