Nightlife in the garden: Hedgehog :) and rats :(

Most of the time in the garden at night there is not much to see but occasionally my wildlife camera shows something of interest. This week a hedgehog came into the vegetable garden:

hedgehog 1The camera is running on a 6 second time-lapse so, depending on the speed of the animal, there could be anything from a single glimpse of an animal to watching  a full set of behavior. The picture above is a crop showing the hedgehog just entering into the frame. This is by my wife’s plant nursery in the vegetable plot.

This second shot is the full image and shows the animal wandering through:

One thing the camera does see a lot of is a rat – up to now we have only ever seen one in all the photos taken by this camera but I have suspected that there were  more than one. Below is the only shot I have got so far showing two rats:
