End of season at East Ruston Old Vicarage

We managed to squeeze in a visit to East Ruston Old Vicarage during the last 3 days of the season:

view across the Rose GardenAt the start of the visit it was quite blustery which spoilt many of the photos so I only ended up with 16 images. This one shows the view across the Rose Garden to the house. What I like about this image is the lighting – there is something about the low evening sun illuminating this view.

The Liquidambar in the eastern field looks stunning this time of the year – the colour it turns really make it stand out. We have one in our garden but it isn’t a patch on these!

At this time of year the Autumn Garden looks good:

It was difficult to take this due to the the strong shadows from the low sun, but I think this is a reasonable effort. Although it may no longer be fashionable, I think that Pampas grass makes a fine feature in the right setting such as here.

Photos of these gardens can be seen in the EROV gallery.
