Tree Surgery

Last week we had a tree surgeon visit us to trim a poplar tree:tree before surgeryI like to keep a record of what we do in our garden – in addition to the regular, monthly views I also take pictures of anything unusual that happens. We were lucky with the weather as the previous, and following, days were wet but this day was dry and the start was quite pleasant.

I tried to get before and after views; the above was, obviously, the before shot. And here is the after:

after tree surgeryAs you can see, there was a large amount taken off, over half the height is now gone. This photo was taken a few days later (due to the rain).

Why did we have so much removed? Well, 4 years ago we had the top third taken out which has regrown and more and I cannot afford to keep having little bits trimmed off every couple of years. Even so, judging by the way it grows it will not be that many years to where it was.
