Parrotia (Persian Ironwood)

A couple of weeks ago I was working on a leak in the roof of our cottage. Looking around  I noticed how golden the Parrotia (Persian Ironwood) was looking in the autumn sunshine. So I took some photos:

Parrotia (Persion Ironwood)This particular tree is a small specimen that my wife bought cheap as it was quite bent. But, in this location by the summerhouse at the back of our small pond it fits well. Over the summer it looks like a boring green plant, but during the autumn it positively glows!

This next view shows it alongside the summer house:

Parrotia by the summerhouseIt certainly cheers up a fading autumn garden.

p.s. reading up about the shrub it can grow to 30m tall!
