Puya at East Ruston Old Vicarage

During our visit on Friday to the gardens at East Ruston Old Vicarage, In the Desert Wash garden we sought out the Puya which is in flower:

puya flower-1We first saw this plant a couple of years ago but it was planted high up which limited the viewing of the plant, although we could see the outstanding flower colour. This time it was more accessible enabling me to get better photos. The first photo shown above shows the gorgeous dark turquoise colour of the petals with the contrasting orange stamens.
