Redcurrants in the garden

Catching up on the photos I have taken over the summer, here are some photos of redcurrants taken in early July:

no redcurrantsFor these, I wanted tell tell a story of picking the fruit. The first message is that the bushes need protecting from the birds otherwise they get stripped of fruit as evidenced above.

But if they are netted, there is still some fruit:
