September visit to the gardens at East Ruston Old Vicarage

Last Sunday we paid a visit to these wonderful gardens – I took my camera as usual and this time tried to take views that I hadn’t done before:

This is a view by the Dutch Garden showing, amongst other plants, Brugmansia. I like the composition of this photo with the depth it provides. The boundary between the cloud and blue sky also seems to follow the height of the vegetation. This is my favourite from the visit.

This next view is in the North Garden – I deliberately chose it to show just the mass of plants and not any building or structure. The path goes through the middle of the photo but is not seen from this perspective:North garden

The following image is the view through the large arbour to the Exotic Garden. I do like the sense of depth and height in this image:

This final one shows the colour and the mass of plants in the walled garden:

Although the weather was quite dull, I was pleased with many of the finished photos. I sent a set to one of the the owners, Alan Gray. I was gratified to see that they replaced their previous Facebook cover photo with the first one above as well as publishing many of the photos.

Alan also featured some in his twitter feed.
