This morning we went for a walk on a mild winter’s day around Trentham Gardens. Here are a sample of the photos I took:-
Below is a view through the formal gardens to the lake. It was a quite pleasant day with light cloud:
Next is a view in one of the formal gardens – I liked this for both the bug hotel and the wooden sculptures:
Now we have a panoramic view of the lake. What doesn’t show is the number of people about, many walking around the lake:
Then we have this fairy sculpture sitting by a small stream. There are many of these sculptures around the gardens with the bigger ones showing large dandelions with the fairy. They are mostly made from stainless steel wire. One thought I had was that they are all of the female form – where are the male fairies!
Finally some of the wild birds by the lake. Here we have a couple of black swans and a coot standing by:
Lovely photos Paul! I especially like your panoramic and the photo with the bug hotel and wooden sculpture.
Thanks Emma. I looked at your blog post on bug hotels (http://www.fixturesandflowers.co.uk/how-to-make-a-bug-hotel/) that you sent me – that looked quite comprehensive! Paul
