Here, Paul will discuss and show some of his photography.
#5from7photo: A tree from the garden on different days
As is my wont, I have photographed the trees visible from our garden on different days to show how they look in different weather. This is a set of 4 photos of a single tree, along with a composite made from 3 of the photos:
1st January 2021 after some snow that almost immediately started to thaw7th January 2021 during some light fog or mist31st January 2021: on a bright day1st February on a brighter day with a bluer skyA simple composite showing 3 of the above images: Snow, mist, and blue sky.
The most difficult part of all this is aligning the different images. Although I take a lot of care in setting up the camera, levelling the image, zooming by the same amount; each image has to be adjusted to get a good match in the alignment. This is not perfect as the tree is a living, breathing organism. It moves with the wind, temperature, humidity and growth. Below I show before/after sets using the first (snow) image as the base for the comparisons. First is snow with mist:
1st January 2021 after some snow that almost immediately started to thaw
7th January 2021 during some light fog or mist
Then snow with a clear day:
1st January 2021 after some snow that almost immediately started to thaw
31st January 2021: on a bright day
Finally snow with bluer sky:
1st January 2021 after some snow that almost immediately started to thaw
1st February on a brighter day with a bluer sky
