Intentional Camera Movement: Rotation

I’ve been experimenting with Rotational Intentional Camera Movement after seeing some examples in an RPS presentation. The photos shown below (along with the setup views) are part of my first attempts at this genre:

Intentional Camera Rotation: Tree and Field

This image is a combination of 6 photos.

Setup for Intentional Camera Rotation: Tree and Field

For the setup, I used a combination of 2 tripod ball heads and an L bracket placed ‘wrongly’ on the camera. It took a little while to get the setup aligned correctly.

Intentional Camera Rotation: Rams Head

This is a blend of 10 images.

Setup for Intentional Camera Rotation: Rams Head

The setup is the same as the previous image. Getting the eye sockets of the rams head in the correct alignment was the most difficult part.

The inspiration for this was, as mentioned above, an RPS Presentation. However, the technique shown was done in camera whereas I have created this in Photoshop. Whilst I processed these images I realised that I could reproduce this in Photoshop using just the one image. Hmmm…
