Dandelion Clock using Ultra-Violet (UV)

I decided to try photographing dandelion clocks (the seed heads) using ultra-violet light. I tried 2 different methods: 1) Ultra-Violet photography (the camera recording the ultra violet light) and 2) Ultra-Violet fluorescence photography (the visible light fluorescing from the UV). Here are some of my results:

First, just 1 image in UV. I still need to work on the technique for this – more research is required!:

Two dandelion clocks photographed under UV light

The next photos show the seed heads fluorescing under UV light:

This shows show the 2 seed heads fluorescing under UV light
One of the seed heads with a single seed resting on the rest of the ball of seeds
A close-up of a single seed resting on top of the dandelion clock

An interesting exercise – I will have to go outdoors at night with my UV torch…
