Backgrounds for UV fluorescence images – slightly technical

From my last post you may have gathered that I had problems with dust fluorescing under UV light – I was using a black velvet background. To try and overcome this I tried using a selection of different coloured materials that looked OK in visible light but didn’t hold the dust under UV light, and was sufficiently different in tone to make the editing easier. Below I show the best 2 backgrounds that I had. These I show using before/after sliders:

First is a grey background:

Grey background in visible light
Grey background with UV fluorescence

The second is cream coloured material:

Cream material for the background
Cream material under UV light for fluorescence

I think I will use the cream…
