Ultra-Violet Fluorescence of a Day Lily

I am trying ultra-violet fluorescence photography using a day-lily as the subject. This involves lighting the subject using ultra-violet light but photographing it using a normal digital camera in colour.

I was surprised at the different colours produced as the lighting, although manually applied, was pretty much the same for each. I have 3 examples that I am showing below using ‘before/after’ or ‘sliders’ using a normally lit version for the comparisons:

Normally lighting on a day lily
Ultra violet fluorescence on a day lily – version 1

Normally lighting on a day lily
Ultra violet fluorescence on a day lily – version 2

Normally lighting on a day lily
Ultra violet fluorescence on a day lily – version 3

This has shown the technique works, next time I shall need to select a subject a bit more carefully…
