Sunbeams at Cannock Chase

Last week we paid a visit to the woods at Cannock Chase – a local reserve / country park. I decided to go as I wanted to photograph the larch trees as the change to their autumn colours before they drop their needles. The weather was forecast to be cloudy-bright – I wanted interesting skies.

However, the weather changed as we drove there including some foggy patches. When we got to our destination there was still some light mist around but with the sun shining as well. Walking along the main path through the woods I noticed that there were some quite distinct sunbeams showing in the woods to the east of the path – this is the first time I have seen this when carrying a camera.

In this post I show some of the sunbeams I managed to photograph:

I am now processing the rest of the photos I took on this walk!
