No, not the wild flower but a Robin!
I am the first to admit that I am not a wildlife photographer, nor do I know the names of birds, plants and animals. But this was an opportunity not to be missed.
We were walking through the woods at Hem Heath (managed by Staffordshire Wildlife Trust) when we came across this robin – I am told that it is a juvenile, not an adult. We stopped and I got my modest telephoto zoom out and managed to get the above shot. I then crept slowly along the path taking photos (hand held) as I got closer. The following photos are crops as my lens is not that powerful, nor could I get very close. I am quite pleased with the results though – experts may disagree!:
This does show how good the image stabilisation is in modern cameras and lenses even though my hands are not the steadiest!
